Make a difference to tomorrow by donating today
The 2011 programme remained true to the Festival's founding mission to provide 'a platform for the flowering of the human spirit'. Audiences were treated to an exploration of vibrant and diverse Asian cultures which saw artists from the far east brought together through their shared passions. We simply couldn't present a programme of this calibre each year without the generosity of our supporters through both donations and membership subscriptions to the Festival.
As a charity, approximately 50% of the Festival's total income is generated through sponsorship, donations and earned income including ticket sales, with 50% coming from public sector grants. This summer our donations enabled us to present two concerts by the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and individually supported performances at The Queen's Hall and Usher Hall. Director's Circle donors made the world premiere of The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle possible, while donations made to our Confetti Mandala Appeal helped fill the stage of The Edinburgh Playhouse with the millions of flakes of confetti integral to the performance of Shen Wei Dance Arts' Re-Triptych.
As a curated Festival, our expenses include artists' fees and travel, hiring venues and paying the technical costs involved in staging events. Help us bring artists to the 2012 Festival by making a donation today. No donation is too small or too large and the combined generosity of our supporters makes a significant difference to our work, not only for this year but for the future stability of the Festival for generations to come.
